Michael Johns Fans

Michael Johns joins the likes of USA Today, MTV and Moby, with his very own Netvibes Universe at http://netvibes.com/michaeljohns. Universes were designed for 'allowing users to create highly customized versions of Netvibes and publish them for public access'.

Given we've already posted many videos we're happy to announce today that you can now view them automatically, as they are released, from the comfort of your own desktop using a podcast reader like Apple's iTunes.

We're happy to announce that there's now an MJF MySpace profile at http://myspace.com/michaeljohnsfans which, thanks to the efforts of a mother & daughter team (Rose & Jen) from San Antonio, TX looks great and already has around 300 friends! If you're already on MySpace then why not add us as your friend too?

Ok so it's been running for a few days already but we've finally got around to putting some interesting content on there. Go check it out at blog.michaeljohnsfans.com, subscribe to the feed using your favourite reader (eg Google Reader) and get commenting (and linking back if you've got a blog of your own).

While the best thing you can do right now is spread the word (eg by email, posts on Facebook & MySpace, etc.) here's some more specific ideas, and if you're really committed you can always contact us to get actively involved.

We've just kicked off a YouTube channel where we'll be posting Michael Johns clips that we manage to catch or fans send in (eg commercials, auditions, music videos, interviews, news articles, etc.). You can find it at http://youtube.com/michaeljohnsfans, and be sure to not only check out the videos (they're amazing!) but also to get involved, for example by:

• adding yourself as a friend
• subscribing to the channel
• commenting on the channel and videos
  

To give us fans somewhere to discuss Michael Johns (ideally free of other noise) we're today launching the MJF Forum at http://michaeljohnsfans.com/forum. Although the software running michaeljohnsfans.com (Drupal) has forums built in we thought we'd go for something similar to what the main Idol sites are running and ended up selecting phpBB 3 - hope you like it!

We've just launched a Michael Johns Fans Facebook Page. If you're on Facebook then check it out and add yourself as a fan (and even if you're not it's easy enough to create an account). This is one of half a dozen mini sites we're creating initially with content including photos, videos, events, wall posts, music, etc, and perhaps most importantly the ability to see and communicate with other fans.
